Our Policies

 

 

We want your pet’s experience at Paws R Us Pet Grooming to be as pleasant and as enjoyable as possible. It is important to understand that some pets respond to grooming differently, even with the best efforts.

Pricing

Many times we cannot give exact price quotes unless we see the dog in person.  Many breeds can vary even tho they are the same breed! For example, Ive groomed many maltese that weigh anywhere from 8lbs to 40lbs yet both are considered Maltese although they would not be charged the same fee.  Also, prices depend on the clip required.  Prices are subject to change without notice due to constant price increases from our suppliers.

Finishing Touches

At Paws R US we ALWAYS add finishing touches and they are always included at no additional cost because we believe it is part of the salon experience and we just love doing them!  We constantly change the options so one day could be flowers and bows, could be bandannas, could be a bow tie etc and we always add a "titch" of Dog Cologne.  If you would prefer your pet not to receive these free extras just let us know.

Scheduled Drop off times

We would like to urge you to come as close to your scheduled drop off as possible, no more than 5 minutes if possible.  The reason for this is that we stagger the appointments throughout the day, working with only 1 dog at a time and we try not to have 2 clients here at the same time.  Also, we allow a certain time block specifically for each dog.  For example, if your appointment is at 11am and you arrive at 10:35, we are still working on the client ahead of you so please be prepared to wait to your scheduled time.  There are exceptions of course, we understand if certain situations may force an early drop off but please phone ahead and let us know this prior to your arrival.

IMPORTANT!!!!  Please allow your pet to relieve himself PRIOR to Scheduled appointment times!! : Please make sure your pet has relieved themselves prior to drop-off to avoid "accidents" that may result in re-bathing fees as we do not have time to schedule bathroom breaks for your pet during the groom.  Also, while we truly appreciate taking the time to allow your pet to relieve himself, PLEASE do it before the scheduled appointment time! If you arrive on time but then take 15 min to walk your dog to relieve himself,  it now puts us behind 15 min throughout the day.  

 

Fleas and Ticks: **please notify us BEFORE the groom if there is a chance your pet may have fleas!

If the occasional flea and/or tick is found on your pet during the grooming process, a treatment to rid your pet of fleas and/or ticks is mandatory and an additional charge will apply. This is not only to get rid of the unwanted pests, but to also avoid an infestation within the salon. Flea infestation can lead to tapeworm and other health problems. We suggest keeping your pet on a monthly flea & tick treatment, especially during the warmer months.  ***Please note** we will refuse any dog that is INFESTED in fleas!

Aggressive Pets: Owners MUST inform Paws R Us Pet Grooming if your pet may bite, has bitten, or shows signs of aggression towards people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. Muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your pet, and protects both the pet and the groomer. A “Handling Fee” may be applied in addition to the regular grooming charge for aggressive or difficult to groom pets. Paws R Us Pet Grooming reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such a pet at any time before or during the grooming process. This is for the pet’s safety, as well as for the groomer’s safety.

Notice of CancellationWhen booking appointments, a time slot is set aside for your pet. Should you need to cancel or change the appointment, we would be happy to do so with a minimum 24 hours notice.  Failure to do so will result in a cancellation fee.  Many times we have clients on a waiting list wanting to get in earlier so we truly appreciate advance notice.

Vaccinations and Parasite Control: For the safety of all animals entering our facility we suggest pets be up to date on vaccinations including Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella.

Matting or knots: If you pet comes in with mats or knots, you may be subject to additional fees especially if you are requiring a brushout instead of a shave down. Brenda does a physical look over of pets beforehand to ensure the owner is notified of any shave-downs that may occur. This allows for no "surprise!" shave downs!

Grooming Senior Pets: While we take extra care with senior pets, sometimes a full groom may not be possible for many reasons, i.e. we see the dog maybe feeling 'stressed' or 'anxious' so our main goal to is make the pet as relaxed as possible with a soothing bath and gentle touch.  Many seniors love getting groomed as they love the attention while many are just like aging people, they are sensitive and do not want to be touched.  In that case we provide a "comfort" groom only which is to keep them clean and stress free.  Each dog is different so we judge them individually.
